Optimize EAM with Criticality-Based Mechanical Integrity (CBMI) and
SAP (read more...)
CBMI is a methodology for integrating risk assessment data and
process safety/operability information with SAP technical objects and
lifecycle data to optimize the risk management component of EAM. CBMI
uses Equipment Criticality Ranking (ECR) to assess risk and exposure
levels associated with processing facilities. ECR is a systematic
process for identifying potential equipment failure scenarios or
capturing legacy risk scenarios, risk-ranking and quantifying exposure
for each scenario, and then aggregating exposure at any point within a
facility via the functional location hierarchy. Scenarios are developed
with progressive levels of detail on an equipment-by-equipment basis and
include fault-event-consequence sequences, consequence risk ranking, and
other equipment involved or affected. Safeguards (installed protective
equipment, spare parts, inspections, etc.) are discretely identified and
given risk reduction credits for each applicable scenario. Safeguard
analysis is used to calculate safeguard benefit-to-cost (BTC) ratios and
monitor safeguard effectiveness, which facilitates risk-based EAM
decision-making and quantitative RCM.

Integrate legacy risk
assessment data (HAZOP, PHA, etc.) with SAP lifecycle data in the EAM
process.
v
Use the SAP functional
location (FL) structure to aggregate risk at any level within the FL
hierarchy.
v
Optimize EAM with
risk-based benefit-to-cost evaluations of maintenance programs, spare
parts, and other safeguards. |
